April 6th, 2009

I spoke with Dr.Katz on Friday evening. He called to see how Rebekah was doing. I told him she was not feeling any better, and he seemed disappointed that there was no change. He did say that she is Chronic Lyme though, so the change is usually slow moving. He wants her to stay on the oral Doxycycline for 2 more weeks, before he starts the IV meds. I asked him to fax the information to my doctor asap, as in NS it could take two weeks to get the process underway. We are trying not to be impatient, but it is so hard to watch her struggle day in and day out. Rebekah does have some good days, which is normal for someone suffering with Lyme Disease but there arn't many in a week. We went away to Halifax this weekend as a family to celebrate Sam's 8th Birthday, and we had a great time, even though it tired Rebekah out, she enjoyed herself and we enjoyed the family time.
