Rebekah is continuing to improve :) I think we will be able to take her off the IV meds in the next week or two. She has shown great improvement over the last 2 weeks.
A few weeks ago we were into the IWK for an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon to discuss why her knees keep giving out on her. He said that the muscles in the back of both of her legs are extremely weak. He figures this happened due to her not being overly active while she has been sick. She was quite active with dance before she became sick, so those muscles were use to being stretched. She will be starting physiotherapy within the next few weeks, which should strengthen those muscles again. We have also added magnesium to her vitamin regime(doctors suggestion) to help that along.
We are heading to Truro on Wednesday to meet with the surgeon about her gallbladder. She has been having a very hard time with attacks. She has quite a few gallstones. These have been caused by the antibiotic she has been on. We are hoping her will consider blasting the stones, rather than removing her gallbladder, but we will do what he feels is best. She still has a road ahead of her, but we are encouraged by her steady improvement. She is in the dance troupe this year which she has been working towards for many years. She will be doing a lot of travelling this summer, so we hope and pray she will be well enough to travel.
