This is the latest quote from Rebekah since meeting with Dr.Boucher yesterday. "The construction is over....now the paving begins."
We came home yesterday with a little more weight lifted off our shoulders! Dr.Boucher feels that the Lyme bacteria is GONE! She has now been 3 weeks without IV antibiotics and has not regressed. Praise the Lord!(that is the construction part of the story) Now to the paving part.......
Unfortunately because Rebekah was sick with Lyme Disease for so long there has been some damage done to her body. She still suffers daily from nausea and diareah . She is also still having some trouble with short term memory and last but not least is having allot of knee trouble. So the plan of action is......We are going to try some new meds for her stomach to see if that will help. She is going to be seeing a Naturopath to see if they can recommend a vitamin regime to get her memory back to normal. As far as the knee trouble(which consists of mostly her right knee giving out on her for no apparent reason, therefore causing her to fall) he wants her to see an Orthopedic Surgeon. He is not sure why this is continuing, he knows it is most likely from the Lyme Disease, but not sure what is happening. He said the surgeon could order an MRI and see more of what is going on. So we still have a road ahead of us, but we know that with time she should be back to the Rebekah we had before she became sick.
Thank you so much for your continual prayers. God has been so faithful to us throughout this whole ordeal and I know he will continue to heal Rebekah's body in his time. I will continue to update as we get more information, and ask that you still continue to pray that Rebekah will eventually be able to enjoy her life like a normal 13 year old should.

Congratulations Rebekah. I know how hard this has been with the cycle of improvement and then the disappointment of a relapse. I hope you continue to a full and complete recovery. Your recovery is a source of inspiration to the rest of us. Thank you for the help and support you and your mom have given me. Good luck and God bless - Tim
