Rebekah has now been on the new IV regime for 9 weeks. We think this new regime is finally getting her over the 75% hump. She is now saying that her headache is at a 1 on the pain scale, which it has never been since she became sick almost 2 years ago. She also has said that the nausea that she has had since the beginning has subsided :) She is still having some difficulty with her knees, but we are hopeful that will settle down soon. We will be in touch with her doctor next week to see how much longer he feels we need to continue the IVmeds before putting her on a maintenance dose of oral antibiotic for a few months which is typical protocol for treating Lyme. She really wants to be off the IV as it is summer and she wants to have more freedom, which we totally understand. She has missed enjoying the last two summers due to this awful disease and does not want to loose another. We also know if we cut it too soon and she relapses we are going to be in allot more trouble. Lyme is much harder to treat after a relapse, which we hope never happens. Thank you everyone for your faithful prayers, we would not have made it through these past two years without them.
