We received a call back from the doctor this afternoon. After discussing the different options for her IV treatments we have decided to go with a Port instead of a PICC line. We have decided to have this done in Truro as he knows the surgeon there and it makes things easier. So her surgery is set for July 24th. This is minor surgery to insert this device, but I think it will be safer in the long run as the PICC lines can get infected easier. This will be in for at least a month but maybe up to three months just depending on how she responds. We are hoping the IV antibiotics will be what she needs to get her on the road to recovery. VON will come in daily to administer the meds once the port is in place. So please pray for her on the 24th and we will update you as we know more.
