Rebekah had her Port surgery yesterday. Everything went well. We arrived at the hospital in Truro around 11:45 and they took her in early. She opted for the anesthetic over a local and she tolerated it well. She was out of surgery by 2:00 and we were able to leave the hospital by 3:00. She was ok on the trip home and even managed a quick stop at the mall on the way home. Today she is sore but coping well, the incision looks good, a little seepage but normal. She will be starting her IV antibiotics on Monday. The first infusion will be at the hospital in case she has a reaction. VON is scheduled to come to the house daily, beginning Tuesday evening. We will let you know early next week how she is tolerating her treatments.
