March 9th, 2011

Rebekah has been off the IV meds for one month now. She is doing well, which is exciting to see. We are going to keep the port in for at least six months just to be safe. VON will come by once a month to put heparin in and prevent blood clots. She has not had another gallbladder attack since she had the bad one a few weeks ago. If this continues for another week, we have decided we will not do the surgery and hope for the best. We know the gallstones were caused by the IV drugs, and therefore feel that she may be fine to not have the surgery. She has just started physio this week, to get her legs and knees strenghtened. She has very weak muscles in the back of her legs, which is causing her knees to give out. Hopefully with a good exercise program and weekly visits things will improve over the next few months. Thanks for the continual prayers. We are definitely seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. Will update soon.
