Feb 11th,2010

A couple of things have taken place since my last update. Rebekah had her new port-o-cath put in on Feb 4th. Everything went well. She was quite sore for a few days, but other than that she did great. We were able to put in the gripper needle by the following Monday. We did run into some complications with that, it took the nurse on Monday three attempts, and she still could not get enough blood return to treat her. We decided to administer her meds in her arm that night. The following day another nurse attempted it and got it on the second try. It can be a very tricky process, but luckily Rebekah handles it well.

Yesterday we made the trip to Port Haweksbury to see Dr. Boucher, the doctor that is treating her for Lyme. He was glad to see the improvement in her. We are going to continue to treat Rebekah with the IV antibiotics until we see 100% improvement. We think she is about 70% better right now. He gave her a hug when she left, and was so happy to see her getting better. We are happy with her improvement too. Thank you so much for praying faithfully for Rebekah, we will continue to keep you updated on her progress.
