Sorry I have not updated for a few weeks, life has been so busy. Rebekah had her MRI on Monday Aug 10th. The neurosurgeon said the tumor(we believe it is a Lyme cyst) has not grown or changed since the MRI 3 months ago. The last time it grew it was 6 months before there was a change. We have decided to wait another 3 months and do another MRI and see what is going on then. If this is a cyst caused by Lyme, then hopefully with the IV antibiotics it will shrink it, and maybe this will convince the IWK that Rebekah definitely has Lyme Disease, they have been giving us so much grief over this. They have told us if it is the kind of tumor that they think it is, it would not shrink, but it sure will if it is from Lyme.
On Saturday Aug15th,we went to the Shelburne EX. A friend of Rebekah's, her name is Katie was doing horse reining, and was dedicating it to Rebekah. She did it to Rebekah's song(The Climb) and wore Lime Green to show her support. After the show she came over on her horse and gave Rebekah a bouquet of flowers. We were so touched, and the judge was too, he had tears. What a wonderful friend you are to Rebekah, Katie!
Today has been an awful day for Rebekah we think she may be starting to HERX, which is a good thing because it means that the antibiotics are working. This does not in any way mean that she is all of a sudden going to be better, this can be a very long road and she may HERX many times before we see a big change in her, but it is a start and confirms(even though we have known all along) that she definitely has Lyme Disease. Please pray for her as she goes through this as it is very hard to endure and some days can be absolutely awful. She is really finding it hard some days to cope with this, as she misses out on so much.
